HISD’s Mandarin Immersion Magnet School PTO presents the tenth edition of its Lunar New Year Celebration– with entertainment, performances, food, activities and more in honor of the Year of the Tiger—on the school campus in Uptown.

There will be a dragon dance, a lion dance by the Lavang lion dance team, a performance by Dance of Asian America, a martial arts exhibition and student performances.

Activities include a rock climbing wall, dunk tank, inflatables for all ages, and lots of free crafts and games.

Food trucks include Nola Po Boys, Foreign Policy, and more. There will also be three dessert trucks, food from Lemongrass and drinks from Coffee-Q, among others.

A silent auction and a raffle complete the event and raise funds for the school.

Admission

The festival is free and tickets are sold to participate in all activities and purchase food. Tickets are $10 for a pack of 10. Wristbands are $30 and provide unlimited access to inflatables and most, but not all, activities. Learn more.
