A frosty New Years tradition returns to Bethany Beach for 2022.
The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce and the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation will be hosting a series of family events, including a 5K run and an ‘Eskimo Dive’ on Saturday January 1.
All proceeds from the annual Hair of the Dog Run and Leo Brady Like the Eskimos Plunge exercise will benefit the local community by providing grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships.

The Hair of the Dog Run consists of a 5K run or walk, or a 1 mile walk. The route takes runners or walkers along the streets of Bethany Beach and ends on the boardwalk. The 5k run starts at 10 a.m., followed by the 1 mile walk at 10:05 a.m.
Exercise Leo Brady Like the Eskimo Plunge will take place at noon on the beach at Garfield Parkway and Atlantic Avenue.
The Bethany Boathouse will have a special opening that day to host a post-party for both diving and running participants. People can enjoy unlimited music, food, drink and nacho bar.
