Jasmine “Jazzi” Shores, daughter of Davidson County Commissioner James Shores, died in an early morning car crash in Wilkes County on New Years Day.
At approximately 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, Shores was heading east on NC 268 East into the community of Rock Creek in Wilkes County in a 2019 Toyota RAV4, according to information provided by the Highway Patrol Master Sgt. NC. Jeffrey Swagger. The SUV swerved to the right side of the road, struck a ditch, and rolled over several times.

Shores, 25, of Millers Creek in Wilkes County, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Swagger said she was not wearing a seat belt and was the only person in the vehicle. The cause of the accident and all contributing factors are still under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Shores is survived by her parents; Jean and Lisa; James and Michelle; her brother, Zach; her sister, Shelby; and his brother Austin. A celebration of life service will be held Jan. 8 at her parents’ home in Millers Creek.
