Three victims killed in a multiple vehicle crash on Loop 202 in Phoenix on New Years Day have been identified by the Arizona Department of Public Safety as Juan Carlos Gaspar, his wife Selma and son Carlos, 12 .
The accident happened at approximately 8:50 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound lane of loop 202 at kilometer 57.
Officers learned that Ariyan Guy, 23, was driving a blue Ford Fusion at high speed when he collided with a Chevrolet Suburban moving east on Loop 202. The Suburban turned clockwise. a watch from the impact and landed in a desert area from the roadway after rolling several times, according to court documents.
There were six people in the suburbs. Five of these people were thrown out when the vehicle overturned.
The other three occupants of the Suburban were taken to Chandler Hospital with serious injuries.
The teenage girl in Guy’s passenger seat was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, court documents show.
Guy admitted to authorities that he bought alcoholic beverages and consumed the alcoholic beverages while driving. He was arrested on Sunday evening and then went to Maricopa County Jail, where he was charged with three counts of manslaughter and four counts of aggravated assault with grievous bodily harm.
The family of the three victims killed in the crash raised more than $ 28,000 of their $ 100,000 goal through GoFundMe to fund funeral expenses. GoFundMe has confirmed the veracity of its fundraiser.
