The Dumpling Lady will be offering food for Resident Culture’s Lunar New Year celebration at both Charlotte locations.
Traditional Chinese performances, food, decoration, gifts – and beer, of course – are all on the menu for Resident Culture Brewing Co.upcoming Lunar New Year celebration.
Mark your calendars for February 5 and 6 for the festivities, which will span both brewery locations in Charlotte. “Growing up in a Chinese-American household and the granddaughter of Chinese immigrants with a powerful story of their journey to the United States, the love for my family and my traditions runs deep,” said Resident Culture co-owner, Amanda McLamb. “Lunar New Year is all about welcoming good luck, prosperity, health and abundance for the new year, and nothing makes me happier than sharing a piece of my family’s favorite tradition with our community.
Here are the details:
WHAT: Lunar New Year Celebration
WHEN: February 5 and 6

PERFORMANCES: Hung Gar Kung Fu Academy will perform a traditional lion dance.
FOOD AND DRINK:
“When we moved to Charlotte in 2014, I was looking for a sense of belonging, and finding The Dumpling Lady was one of my first moments when I felt at home,” McLamb said. “Qian’s food is full of fresh, authentic Chinese flavors and spices prepared with traditional cooking methods. We feel so lucky to have him in Charlotte and are honored to have the opportunity to showcase his food at the Lunar New Year Festival and serve him food alongside our beer every day.
- BEER: Global Hawk Schwarzbier is a new resident culture of limited release black lager brewed in collaboration with Horus Aged Ales in California. “The malt character and sweetness balances the heat and pairs well with the pork, but would go great with any option,” said Chris Tropeano, head brewer and co-owner of Resident Culture. “At the same time, the beer is still dry and crisp enough to be refreshing and balance out the richness.”
