Any day of the week is a good day of the week to dine at Saigonthe popular Vietnamese restaurant at 1103 N. Broadway.

But one of the most fun days of the year to visit is the first day of the Lunar New Year, when the restaurant is still throw a big party which includes dragon dancers and “lucky” gifts.

Saigon will celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Tiger on Tuesday, and it will be an all-day event. The dragon dancers will perform at 12:30 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. the owners will distribute red envelopes, called Li Xi or “lucky charms”, to customers. The envelopes include various prizes, including cash and lottery tickets.

Saigon doesn’t take reservations and it’s always crowded for Lunar New Year, so be sure to arrive early.
