THE family of a ‘wonderful woman’ who tragically died following an accident in Newcastle on New Year’s Day say she will be ‘deeply missed’.
Laura Duncalfe, 31, who lived in Newcastle, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after emergency services received a report of a collision between a car and a cyclist on St Lawrence Road at 9.20am .
Despite the best efforts of paramedics and hospital staff, Laura sadly passed away on January 23.

Following her passing, her family paid tribute to their “brave” loved one, saying: “Laura was a wonderful partner, daughter and sister. She worked tirelessly for the good of others and lived her life courageously. and fullness.
“She will be greatly missed by all of us.”
As well as tributes, Northumbria Police are also appealing for more information about Laura’s death – and have asked all witnesses to come forward if they haven’t already spoken to officers.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation as investigations continue into their role in the collision.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: ‘Every death on our roads is always incredibly sad, but it’s particularly poignant when it comes to someone who has their whole future ahead of them.
“We will continue to offer Laura’s family all the support they need and ask everyone to respect their privacy as they try to come to terms with what happened.
“We are committed to finding out what happened in the moments immediately leading up to this collision and will continue to ask any witnesses – or anyone with information that could help our investigation – to contact us.
